Last time we looked at ways to use other people’s products as a free offer on your lead capture page. Now let’s look at ways you can create your own products.
Just as you search for affiliate type products that are of interest to your audience you will want to approach creating your own product with a similar concept in mind. Therefore it is important to research product ideas that will directly impact and/or benefit those who are part of the niche community you are building.
Some options are to 1) create a new product of your own from scratch, 2) use PLR material to help you recreate your own product, or 3) hire someone else to create your product for you.
To create your own product from scratch I suggest you identify if there is a need for the product you want to create by identifying the problem and the specific solution you can offer. Be careful not to create a product and then later find out there is not a real need for what you have.
Next, I recommend you look at similar products that other people have created, perhaps affiliate products. Take a look at how it is designed and formatted to get ideas for creating your own.
If you feel comfortable you can create a similar product like the examples you have looked at, then by all means go ahead and get started with developing your product. Otherwise, you may want to consider using PLR content to create you product to offer with your squeeze page.
When using PLR to create your product offer I recommend you carefully plan out what you want to include. Creating an outline first can be very helpful in structuring your product offer. Again, refer to other sample products.
In addition, be careful to review what type of rights the owner of the material has granted when using their product. You will want to check if you can use it “as is” or if changes are allowed. I typically recommend finding a product you can recreate into something of your own. Just make sure the resell rights allow this change.
Finally, you might want to outsource your product offer and if so, there are a number of freelance sites you may consider for this. Just to name a few, there’s Elance, Odesk and Freelancer and many others. You may search online for these and additional freelance sites.
When outsourcing, be sure to give very specific instructions of the product you would like to have created. Also, I recommend hiring someone who has positive reviews listed. In addition, interview applicants very well and ask to see samples of their work.
Next time we will take a look at email marketing and how you can craft your email messages in an auto-responder after you capture the lead using the steps we have discussed.
