You probably have been told to create your website and place a form on it where visitors can join your newsletter or some type of list to receive information from you.

While this method has worked fine for many in the past, it has become more challenging to be successful as an online marketer by just placing an opt-in form on a business website.  You may have been advised to offer something of high value to those who opt-in on your site.

Today, this is still probably not enough to attract traffic and build a list.  Don’t make the mistake of waiting for the traffic to magically appear and thinking a massive number of people will opt-in to receive your free offer.

Building an online business can be very rewarding.  It doesn’t matter whether you're starting a business from home, a local business owner wanting to increase your presence, or an affiliate marketer selling the products of others, you will find there is one key ingredient you must have in place that will determine the success of your venture.

This ingredient is having traffic that enables you to build a list of subscribers.  It doesn’t matter what product you have to offer.  In fact, whatever marketing strategy you choose to implement for your business it will be depend a lot on having a large amount of traffic or leads flowing in. Otherwise, the business will likely fail.

Having said this I must emphasize the importance of having high quality traffic or better yet, getting high quality leads.  By taking the steps to ensure you are getting the right kind of leads you are more likely to enjoy success online.

Quality leads will allow you to build your business and thus increase exposure for your product or service.  As a result, you will build your credibility and authority within your niche.

There are many ways to generate good traffic leads and some of these are even free.  One thing you must evaluate is whether you will focus on free leads versus paid or both.  We will take a look at this in determining the best option for you to consider.  Keep in mind whatever action is used it is going to take some work.

I must say I have searched for good traffic leads many times only to become frustrated.  In fact, there have been times when I have found only a lack of traffic from the effort I have given.
